Harmonium

Harmonium

The interior of our space is designed as a nod to the rich Leith history which saturates the area - a friendly welcome and a warm space for whiling away the hours.

On the menu you'll find all our dishes are free from animal produce or derivatives and, true to the area, we've developed a subtle maritime twist in amongst juicy quarter pounders, stone baked pizzas and rich, unforgettable desserts.

We cater to all ages and are very dog friendly.

Harmonium, Leith Review | Vegan Edinburgh

Review analysis

Harmonium has been one of the most eagerly-awaited vegan openings in Edinburgh for a long time.

Read on to find out… Well, the good news is that Harmonium is completely animal produce free – so you can have your pick of whatever you want on the menu!

Because it’s still quite new they might still be changing things around a bit, but these are the kind of dishes you can expect to find: So, is it worthy of all the hype?

The seabuckthorn chocolate cheesecake was an interesting concoction – the first couple of bites are a bit strange, but once you get used to the flavour it is a very tasty dessert indeed.

With a varied menu of inventive dishes as well as crowd-pleasing classics, we hope that this completely vegan establishment is a stalwart of the Leith dining scene for many years to come!

Harmonium (60 Henderson Street, Leith, Edinburgh) | The List

Vegan bar and restaurant from the team behind Glasgow's cult bars Mono and Stereo.

The 2018 edition of The List's Eating & Drinking Guide is out now – only £7.95 (+ ).

Harmonium is the first venue in Edinburgh from the Glasgow-based chain which owns venues including Mono, the 78 and Stereo, and walking into the high-ceilinged corner bar does feel a little like stepping into Glasgow.

That’s already enough to recommend it but the menu – designed by chef Vic Henderson, who made Mono a vegan destination in Glasgow – takes Harmonium to the next level.

No-one will feel short-changed on flavour and enjoyment here, especially as the lack of meat likely contributes to the very reasonable prices.

The inventive vegan food at Harmonium is much better than a baked potato, says Gaby Soutar Thanks to my deep passion for baked potatoes, I could probably survive as a vegan.

The most recent addition to a small coterie, including my precious Baked Potato Shop in Cockburn Street, is this new eatery, on a corner spot previously occupied by hipster bar The Vintage.

when we offered her one of the “oyster mushroom scallops” (£4.95), she enjoyed these fungi, which came with nibs of convincing chorizo, as well as real deal rocket leaves and coriander.

My wild mushroom rigatoni (£8.50) didn’t look too appealing, with a slightly clotted sauce on top, but the flavours were great, with a punch of truffle oil, a salty and sandy layer of “walnut Parmesan”, spinach and some miso sticky sweet strips of vegetable matter biltong.

Still, if I were a vegan, I’d be willing to exchange a few of my thrice daily baked potatoes for a visit here.
